What Is a Private Walking Tour of Central Tokyo Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

It was a sunny and warm day, and we enjoyed touring central Tokyo. Since some of the guests had difficulty walking, we proceeded at a rather slow pace throughout the tour. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, I explained the history and remaining structures of Edo Castle, and as some of the guests were quite knowledgeable about Japan and history, we were able to have many interesting conversations. Several varieties of cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and the guests took photographs. For lunch, I guided them to a soba restaurant, where they enjoyed soba and tendon. It seemed to be a flavor they had never experienced before, and I believe they were satisfied. We also visited Meiji Shrine at a relaxed pace, and on this day there were weddings, a shrine visit for a newborn, and post-graduation visits taking place, which slowed us down, but the guests were very pleased. As we were running quite behind schedule, I had planned to explain the grounds of Asakusa, but at the guests' request, we ended the tour a little early.
