Tour Itinerary
- 8:45 Hotel meet-up, route briefing, 9:30 pirate ship from Hakonemachi Port, 10:05 Togendai, ropeway to Owakudani, ropeway to Sounzan, cable car to Gora, mountain train to Chokoku-no-Mori, get off 12:00 Hakone Open-Air Museum (Chokoku-no-Mori Museum), lunch inside the museum, then 13:40 depart Chokoku-no-Mori, 14:19 Hakone-Yumoto, 14:40 arrive Odawara, after supporting the purchase of Shinkansen tickets to Tokyo, disband at 14:50
What Is a Private Hakone Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a very friendly group from Oceania, and we got along very well, sharing a love of jokes. Although they had ridden the pirate ship on their own the day before, today they boarded it again while I shared the legend of Kuzuryu, and they thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent view of Mount Fuji from the Hakone Ropeway. They were also impressed by the legend of Princess Kaguya associated with Mount Fuji. The scenery of Owakudani was unusual to them, and they took many photos while I explained the meaning behind the atmosphere of Owakudani. At the Hakone Open-Air Museum, they enjoyed the beauty and harmony with nature, as well as the panoramic view from the Stained Glass Tower and the early-blooming cherry blossoms. Today they headed to Tokyo by Shinkansen.

Hiro-san knows Hakone!
Our guide, Hiro-san, did a wonderful job introducing us to the area of Hakone – leading us on a great tour of several requested destinations. We were lucky to see Mt. Fuji at the top of the ropeway, had a fun ride on a pirate ship on Lake Ashi, enjoyed a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant, and picked up some great souvenirs at a puzzle-box store which have wowed our family and friends. One of the great things that Hiro did throughout the day was to educate and amuse us with numerous pictures, stories, and lessons from his backpack. It felt like Hiro-san was part of our family that day and we can’t imagine having tried to experience Hakone’s great sites without him.

Great Day and Tour
Kamakura was amazing. Enjoyed visiting the beautiful gardens and shrines. Hiro was a great guide. Having him guide us made the day stress free and much more enjoyable. It was interesting learning about Japan and the culture. I would definitely recommend this tour and visiting Kamakura.
