Tour Itinerary in Detail
The tour started at 10:00 at hotel and ended at 16:00. The day ran to 6 hours from start to finish.
Over the course of the day the route took in Tsukiji Outer Market at 10:30, Imperial Palace Nijubashi Bridge at 11:30, Stroll around Shinjuku Golden Gai and other areas at 12:30, Meiji Shrine at 13:30, Takeshita Street at 14:30 and Stroll around Shibuya at 15:15.
What's a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like for Families Visiting from Overseas? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. They had already traveled through Osaka and Kyoto, and Tokyo was the final destination of their trip.
I chose places that would differ as much as possible from what they had already seen, taking them to spots that are unique to Tokyo such as Tsukiji Market and the Imperial Palace, while explaining the differences between Buddhism and Shinto and their relationship with the Imperial family as we strolled around.
At the guests' request, they wanted to visit a shrine, Shibuya, and Shinjuku, so we first headed to Shinjuku to explore the bustling area, where I introduced the Godzilla statue building and the 3D cat advertisement. They wanted to return again at night and seemed to really enjoy the atmosphere of the place.
We then visited Meiji Shrine, where we happened to see a wedding ceremony taking place, and the guests appeared deeply moved by the traditional Japanese customs.
After that, we visited Takeshita Street, and then I took them to the Shibuya crossing and the Pokémon shop as they had requested, before ending the tour.

Highly recommend this tour for first time visit to Tokyo. Our guide Atsushi took great care to acclimate us with navigating through busy train stations efficiently with a group of eight family members. Along the way and at each site he explained various cultural practices and associated histories that made the tour very immersive and enjoyable. Atsushi-san was an incredibly well-researched and friendly tour guide. His knowledge allowed us to explore and get to the historical significance of the various locations we visited. His explanations were simple but comprehensive. The six hours flew by and included some off-the-beaten opportunities including coffee at a very austere but memorable location near the fish market. I would highly recommend him as well as this tour for anyone with limited time in Tokyo wanting see as much as possible

Our guide, Atsushi, was great! He met us at our hotel in Hakone and took us clockwise to tour all the sites. He was informative and taught us a lot. Our group was two adults and a 14 year old. We saw Mt Fuji from the rope way, but unfortunately the pirate ship was canceled because of high wind. We would absolutely use Atsushi again for this tour, or any other tour he provides.
