What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Temple and Arashiyama Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visitors from North America who had come to Japan while traveling. When departing from the hotel, they asked how long it would take by bus versus taxi, and when I explained that it would be about 20 minutes by taxi and 40 minutes by bus, the guests chose the taxi without hesitation. At Kinkaku-ji, there happened to be a special opening of the Hojo (abbot's chamber), and the guests said they felt lucky to be able to see it. After that, I guided them by taxi to Otagi Nenbutsu-ji, which is known for its many unusual rakan statues. Since taxis are difficult to catch in that area, I asked the taxi driver to wait while we visited Otagi Nenbutsu-ji. We then took the taxi to the bamboo grove in Arashiyama, where the guests saw the bamboo grove, Tenryu-ji, and the Togetsukyo Bridge. When the guests asked what would come next, I explained that there was a monkey park nearby where you can feed the monkeys. They showed great interest and said they wanted to go, so I guided them there. It was still a little early when we finished, but I explained that it takes about an hour to climb the mountain, feed the monkeys, and come back down, and then we parted ways. It was a pleasant tour, and the guests seemed very satisfied. I checked several times about lunch, but they said they did not need to eat.

I am an experienced guide, who live in Osaka. I have been a Government-Licensed Guide in English since 2018. I have already guided a lot of tourists overseas in Kansai Area, that is, in the vicinity of my prefecture, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Himeji. I am especially good at guiding in Kansai Area with sufficient knowledge of history, culture and transportation. I have guided people ranging from a small group of one or two to a group of 20-50 people in a big bus, that is, a coach. I like delicious food, because Osaka is a city of Kuidaorre, which means that people in Osaka love to eat and never spend too much money on food. Therefore, as an Osakan, I will do my best to explore restaurants which serve most delicious foods in wherever I take to my guests.
