Tour Itinerary in Detail
The tour started at 9:00 at Tokyo Edition Ginza and ended at 15:10. The day ran to 6 hours and 10 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch at Choseian inside the market at 12:30.
Over the course of the day the route took in Imperial Palace East Gardens and Nijubashi Bridge at 10:00, Tsukiji Market at 12:00, Meiji Shrine at 13:30, Takeshita Street at 14:40 and Shibuya Crossing at 15:00.

The guests were a group visiting from North America. At the Imperial Palace, we entered through Otemon Gate and took our time viewing the Fujimi-yagura Keep, the orchard, the Tenshudai (former castle keep foundation), Bairin-zaka slope, and the Ninomaru Garden. They took great interest in the plants and stone walls and asked many questions. Because it was so cold, they said they wanted to stop at a cafe, so we took a break at a Starbucks near Wadabori Park before walking to the Nijubashi Bridge. Going directly from the East Gardens to Nijubashi is demanding, but taking a break along the way helps relieve fatigue, so I would like to do it this way from now on. They were delighted by the scenery of the moat, the keep, and Nijubashi Bridge. At Tsukiji, since it was cold outside, we went into a soba restaurant and they enjoyed shrimp tempura soba. It was a cold day, warm enough to make hot food especially welcome. At Meiji Shrine, they seemed very satisfied with the quiet, serene atmosphere, and it was memorable to see them bow deeply as they passed through the torii gate on the way out. After briefly walking along Takeshita Street in Harajuku, we headed to Shibuya and parted ways just after crossing the scramble crossing. I had been worried about rain or snow, but we were able to finish just before it started, which was fortunate.

We had such a lovely time with our guide, Yumi. We wanted to visit places that showed us
life for Tokyo residents plus some architecture heroes. The four hours disappeared so
quickly and Yumi had planned our tour so efficiently, no wasted time. Yumi is a star!

took us to the major attractions in Hakone efficiently and helped us avoid long lines. We
took cable cars, a lovely boat ride and the bus.

Yumi is an outstanding guide. She greatly assisted in guiding us in our choices of areas Tokyo to tour based on our likes. Yumi gave us a wealth of information on Japanese history and culture specific to the areas we toured. She met us in the lobby of our Tokyo hotel and guided us with travel using the Tokyo train and subway. We choose to see the Rikugien garden, the Asakusa area of Tokyo and the Sensoji Temple. The Japanese Tea ceremony was beautiful, calming and informative. Yumi helped us arrange to add wearing Kimonos for this experience. She graciously took our photos throughout this tour. She is such a lovely lady. We highly recommend this tour and have high praises for Yumi.
