Tour Itinerary in Detail
Meeting at Ritz-Carlton Kyoto at 8:30, the group explored Kyoto until the tour ended at 15:50. The day ran to 7 hours and 20 minutes from start to finish. It included lunch at Hanamakiya near Kinkakuji at 12:00.
The itinerary covered Fushimi Inari Taisha at 9:00, Sanjusangendo at 10:40, Kinkakuji at 13:20 and Nijo Castle at 14:20.
What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari and Kinkaku-ji
Today I guided a private one-day tour in Kyoto for guests visiting from North America. We first went to Fushimi Inari Taisha. Although it rained from the morning, there were not too many tourists, so the guests were able to enjoy it fully. We then headed to Sanjusangen-do, where a special ceremony was being held on March 3, featuring a different arrangement than usual, which was a pleasant surprise. The guests were very interested in the Buddhist statues and were extremely delighted. After that, we enjoyed soba noodles at a restaurant, then visited Kinkaku-ji and Nijo Castle. There were fewer people than usual, and the guests listened attentively to my explanations. I believe they had an enjoyable time.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kyoto Private Tour
Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
