# What's a Private Day Tour of Nikko's World Heritage Sites Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visiting from North America. They were bright and friendly, and it was a fun day full of laughter from start to finish.

This time, the guests wanted to focus on seeing and learning about architecture, history, and culture, so we centered the tour around the World Heritage area. One of the guests noticed small architectural details and asked many great questions, which gave me the chance to share things I don't usually get to talk about. The other guest also responded warmly to each explanation, which made it easy for me to speak.

It was very warm today, and since we walked a great deal, I had been looking for a chance to introduce Nikko's freshly made, fluffy natural shaved ice, which is a specialty of this season. After we walked to Kanmangafuchi Abyss, the guests said they wanted some ice cream, so I guided them to a teahouse on the grounds of the Tamozawa Imperial Villa. The guests ordered coffee and dango, so I ordered a natural shaved ice, and the three of us shared and enjoyed it together. This year has been warm, so the natural ice apparently took longer to complete than usual, and the teahouse specially prepared something not normally on the menu. I explained about Nikko's natural shaved ice, including this, and the guests enjoyed savoring the deliciousness of ice eaten in winter and were delighted.
