What Is a Private Kyoto Tour with a Licensed Guide Like? Fushimi Inari, Nijo Castle, and Kinkaku-ji: A Guide's Report

The guests were a group visiting from Europe. At Fushimi Inari in particular, we made use of the wheelchair-accessible ramps and elevators so that the group could see as much of the Senbon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates) as possible. At Nijo Castle, we arranged for a rental electric-assist wheelchair to make moving around easier, and at Kinkaku-ji we kept the route to flat areas only. We took every measure to ensure smooth accessibility throughout.

I was a little concerned about whether we could keep to the schedule on time, but we were able to finish exactly as planned.

At Kinkaku-ji, our final stop, it began to snow, but the weather was not too severely cold.

Regarding the tour, some of the guests said they most enjoyed the torii gates at Fushimi Inari and Kinkaku-ji, others enjoyed Kinkaku-ji, and others found Nijo Castle and Kinkaku-ji the highlights.
