Tokyo in One Day: Inside Tokyo Station — Guide Kei

Tour Itinerary

  • 12:30 Meet at Hotel La'sur Ginza
  • 13:30 Take a taxi to the Imperial Palace Nijubashi Bridge, commemorative photo
  • 14:30 Stroll around Marunouchi's old "Icchou London", take a break at a coffee shop
  • 15:50 Inside Tokyo Station
  • 16:00 Take photos of the Shinkansen on the Shinkansen platform
  • 17:10 Ueno Ameyoko, Marishiten
  • 18:30 Return to the hotel in Ginza. End of work

What Can You See on a Private Tokyo Tour by a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace, Marunouchi, and Ueno

The guests were visitors from Europe on their first trip to Japan. They had an interest in railways and in the Japanese Imperial family. Since one of the guests had some difficulty walking, the tour was designed to make combined use of taxis for moving around. We visited the Nijubashi Bridge at the Imperial Palace. The guests were very knowledgeable about the Imperial family and asked many questions.

We then went to the red-brick district of Marunouchi, once known as "Icchō London." We aimed for a café inside the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, but unfortunately it was closed. We took a break with a light meal at a French bakery near Tokyo Station.

At the strong request of the guests, we went into Tokyo Station to see the Shinkansen. They seemed very satisfied to be able to take photographs.

We then strolled through the lively bustle of Ameyoko, a complete change from the calm atmosphere up to that point, and also stopped by Marishiten Temple. Finally, I took the guests to a spot near their hotel in Ginza, where we parted ways.
