Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Peace Memorial Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

I guided a group visiting from Oceania.

Since the distance from the Hotel to the museum was short, we traveled on foot. Along the way, I explained the memorial monument dedicated to the students who died during building demolition work. This monument commemorates more than 600 students who lost their lives during the building demolition efforts.

On the box held by the central figure, Einstein's formula for atomic energy is inscribed. Because the speech restrictions of the time made it impossible to use images or words that directly depicted the atomic bomb, the formula was used as a symbolic expression as a last resort. The guests were deeply moved by this explanation.

One of the guests took a particularly deep interest in the atomic bomb and viewed the materials with great attention. Some of the guests had been looking forward to visiting Hiroshima and had a strong desire to learn about the atomic bomb, asking many questions eagerly.

At the Children's Peace Monument, the guests wrote messages of peace on recycled paper made from folded paper cranes and posted them.

Since the guests planned to visit Miyajima the following day, I explained about Miyajima as well, which they were very pleased to hear.

Finally, I guided them to an okonomiyaki restaurant. After the guests were seated, I told them, "This concludes the tour." At that point, some of the guests deliberately stood up, shook my hand, and greeted me politely. I was deeply impressed by their courtesy.
