Title: What Can You See on a Private Family Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on Akihabara and Asakusa
The guests were a group visiting from Asia. Their main requests centered on spots that would appeal to the younger members of the group. Since they had already been to Tsukiji and Meiji Shrine, I recommended Akihabara, Asakusa, and the Imperial Palace. We started in Akihabara, where we spent time until 11:00 enjoying gashapon machines and a 100-yen shop, searching for favorite figures in the Akiba culture scene, and trying hands-on real-life games. After that, we went to a maid cafe they had wished to visit and had some tea. Since they did not take photos or make special requests, I felt the maid service was not especially attentive, so we did not stay long and moved on to Asakusa. In Asakusa, the guests spent about 4,000 yen on fortune slips and charms, and when I explained that such contributions greatly help support the upkeep of the temple, they understood and appreciated it very much. Afterwards, we had a light lunch of soba, and then stopped by a T-shirt shop where the guests did some shopping. Although I had passed in front of the shop many times, this was my first time actually going inside. The prices were not exactly cheap, but the guests liked the items very much and purchased several. It was a good learning experience to see what appeals to affluent travelers. After that, since they wished to return early to prepare for their evening plans, we skipped the Imperial Palace and I saw them off near their hotel. Along the way, they shared where they were from, and as this was my first time guiding guests from that part of Asia, and also my very last guests of 2024, I was grateful to end the year with such a wonderful group.

Hello! I am Kyoko who has been working as a guide since 2017. I was born in Kyoto. So, my name comes from Kyoto which is Japan’s beautiful ancient capital . And “ko” literally means child in Japanese. Thus, my name Kyoko means Kyoto’s child, Kyoko. But some guests call me Kyoto. It’s okay, not a big problem.
But to say the truth, I feel like this, ” Am I like an ancient person? No way~!!…” I am mainly guiding in and around Tokyo. Tokyo has two faces of well-advanced and old-fashioned. So, you can enjoy both high-tech technology and historical culture plus delicious food and drinks, too. You will surely be inspired in this city with me. Anyway, looking forward to meeting you in the near future. Thank you in advance!

Tripadvisor review: Nikko Full-Day Private Walking Tour with Government-Licensed Guide (Tokyo DEP.)
Absolutely amazing tour in Nikko. We wanted to see something other than the city, someplace rich with history. Nikko did not disappoint. The architecture was breathtaking. Kyoko, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable regarding the shrine and the entire historical site. What a great experience! I highly recommend the Nikko tour along with our guide, Kyoko.

Our wonderful guide Kyoko prepared an excellent tour for my family and me.
I had given Kyoko some rough ideas of the sorts of things that we might like to see but left her to use he expertise to show us what she thought was best.
We certainly were not disappointed. We loved everything on our itinerary. Kyoko had a lot of interesting knowledge to share and her English was perfect.
Kyoko was also very caring towards my parents, who have some mobility issues.
At the end of the tour Kyoko made sure that we got to the correct underground platform.
I would highly recommend
