Tour Itinerary
- 1) 9:00 Meet @ Hotel TOKYO STATION (5-3 Yaesu 1-chome, Chuo-ku, Tokyo)
- 2) 9:30 Imperial Palace Inui Street Public Opening
- 3) 10:00 East Gardens (Kitahanebashimon Gate → Ninomaru Garden → Otemon Gate)
- 4) 11:00 Tsukiji Market & Lunch @ Tsukiji Kagura Sushi New Building (4-10-10-9 Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo)
- 5) 13:00 Akihabara
- 6) 14:10 Asakusa <Nakamise Street, Sensoji Temple>
- 7) 15:00 Disband @ Tokyo Metro Ginza Line Asakusa Station
Title: What Can You See on a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Covering the Imperial Palace, Tsukiji, Akihabara, and Asakusa? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. In detailed correspondence beforehand, they requested a visit to Akihabara because of a strong interest in pop culture and games. They also let me know in advance about a change to their accommodation, which I had already updated. After confirming the itinerary again at the Hotel meeting point, we first enjoyed the autumn foliage along the Inui-dori path of the Imperial Palace and visited the East Gardens. At Tsukiji, the group had sushi at a restaurant (about a 25-minute stay), and I introduced one shop and restaurant after another as they caught our eye. They also bought ichigo daifuku. In Akihabara, I guided them in succession to the game floor of a large electronics store, then to Radio Kaikan, and on to Akiba Cultures Zone (they mentioned that they would be heading to Kyoto the next day and returning to the Tokyo area in about four to five days, at which point they planned to revisit Akihabara). Our final stop was Asakusa. We took in a panoramic view of Asakusa from the culture and tourism center, then walked from Kaminarimon Gate to Nakamise-dori, through Hozomon Gate, and on to the main hall. Finally, I also showed them a few other shopping streets before we parted ways.

I would definitely recommend this tour. Our guide Tachi was so helpful in showing us around and answering all our questions. It was a great idea to do this on the first day since we covered most of the popular cultural sights and areas with her leaving the ret of our days for other specific interests.

Wonderful tour of the highlights of Tokyo
Tachi was our guide. What a wonderful experience. She communicated very effectively before our departure to plan a very nice tour around the city. On the day of departure, it was raining very heavily in Tokyo and we considered rescheduling, but went ahead anyway. She met us at our hotel just as planned and set out on a very nice tour that visited all the sites we wanted to see. We used the subway system to move about the city. We we very happy with the tour and would book with her again in the future if we return to Tokyo. Hint: download PASMO to your phone to pay for subway rides.
