What Is a Private Himeji Castle Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's guests were visitors from North America. For the group, this was a first or second visit to Japan. The guests came to Himeji from Kyoto by Shinkansen, and since they arrived at the meeting point very promptly, we started the tour a little earlier than planned.
During the tour, after explaining the overview and historical background of Himeji Castle at Castle View, we visited Himeji Castle, Koko-en Garden, and the Nadagiku Sake Brewery, then returned to Himeji Station to conclude the tour.
There were many tourists today, so Himeji Castle was a little crowded, but the weather was good and we were able to enjoy a comfortable tour. At Nadagiku, the guests sampled various kinds of sake and also purchased several bottles. At each of the destinations, the guests appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the tour.

Our delightful guide, Norio, was knowledgeable and a master at train negotiation! A highlight of the tour was the Herb Garden and Ropeway visit. The Sake Brewery and Museum was interesting with fabulous explanation from Norio combined with outstanding exhibits and tastings! He then left us to wander at our leisure in Chinatown.

We learnt lots about Himeji castle and it was very interesting. The gardens were beautiful and it was great to see all the Koi fish. Norio made sure to take us to the best places and even took us to a great local sake place we asked for 🙂
