What Is a Private One-Day Kyoto Tour After Arriving from Osaka Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

This tour began right after the guests arrived in Kyoto from Osaka by Shinkansen. Since they had mentioned in advance that they wanted to try either okonomiyaki or tonkatsu, we decided they would enjoy okonomiyaki in Osaka, and I made a reservation at a tonkatsu restaurant. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, the guests wrote on torii-shaped ema plaques and took many photos, so we fell significantly behind schedule. At the lunch restaurant, the guests placed quite a large order, but they finished everything and were very pleased, saying it was delicious. Since some of the guests enjoyed desserts, at Kinkaku-ji I introduced the local specialty matcha soft serve topped with gold leaf. Everyone happily enjoyed it, but this too took more time than planned, so in the end we were only able to see the bamboo grove in Arashiyama. Because I had explained the departure time from Arashiyama in advance, and since the guests appeared tired, they kindly agreed even though our departure was delayed by about ten minutes, and we headed to the hotel. Thanks to the safe and appropriate route selection by the guide, we arrived at the hotel at exactly 17:00.

Hi! My name is YUKA. I’ve got the government license in 2018 and joined a half year traning to do the guide. But a half year later I started my carreer, Covid came. I should have given up guiding. During the Covid, I’ve read many books and made my own materials to explain Japanese culture, history, etc. I love guiding because the guests expand my horizon all the time and let me know their own country and culture, etc. It is really important for us all to know each other and respect each other to make this world peace. Thank you for coming to Japan! Let’s enjoy Japan together!
