What Is a Private Day Tour of Kamakura Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting Japan from North America. Since they wished to see a bamboo grove garden and the Great Buddha, I had planned to visit Hokoku-ji Temple, Kotoku-in Temple, and lunch at a local eatery in Hase, but as there was time to spare, we also decided to visit Jomyo-ji Temple, Komachi-dori Street, and Hasedera Temple. At Kotoku-in, the guests actively enjoyed sightseeing, including going inside the Great Buddha. Since they did not plan to sightsee on their own after the tour ended, we did not go to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, but I am glad that we were able to visit Komachi-dori Street and Hasedera Temple within the available time.

Our guide, Harry, did an excellent job of showing us around Tokyo. He helped us navigate the train and subway systems. Had an excellent Japanese lunch and stopped at good local shopping venues. Harry also arranged which order we should do things in since I didn’t know how far apart the attractions we wanted to see were from each other. No way we could have navigated on our own, very pleased, highly recommend.
