What Is a Private Day Tour of Koyasan Like from Osaka? A Licensed Guide's Report
I guided a group visiting from abroad around Koyasan. At Okunoin the temperature was a little low at times, but overall the tour was blessed with calm weather and no wind. It left an impression on me that the guests each had their own cameras and each enjoyed taking photographs. Also, unusually for guests from abroad, they received goshuin (temple seal stamps) at Okunoin, Kongobuji, and Danjo Garan, collecting three books each. Since one of the guests requested a stop at a souvenir shop, we visited Juzuya Shirobei after lunch. I had felt that a six-hour tour might be a little long, so after finishing the visit to Danjo Garan, I asked whether they would like to go to a cafe or to the Reihokan (museum), and everyone chose the cafe. After taking a short break at the cafe, they headed back toward Osaka by connecting bus, cable car, and train, so I think the cafe at the end was a good choice as well.

Naka was an amazing tour guide! He was incredibly flexible and was very knowledgeable. He also ensured we had ample time to stop to rest, hydrate, find bathrooms, and get food (for which he recommended multiple options). He also went out of his way to help my father figure out an issue he was having with his Suica card, which significantly improved our entire overall trip!
