What Is a Private Tour of Tsukiji, the Imperial Palace East Gardens, and Asakusa Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The weather was fine and the guests were enjoying their trip. At Tsukiji, they looked at the seafood with great enjoyment. They took an interest in tuna and asked several questions. They also asked about octopus and pufferfish. Tsukiji was more crowded than ever before, so we headed to the Imperial Palace East Gardens without walking much through the alleys. We entered through the Kitahanebashi Gate, and I was surprised by how many international visitors there were. The guests took many photos in the Japanese garden and seemed to be especially fond of the long-finned nishikigoi carp. We stopped by an ATM near a hotel. The guests had already purchased JR tickets to Kyoto but did not know how to exchange them, so on the way from Otemachi to Asakusa we stopped at Ueno Station and tried to exchange them via QR code, but it did not work. When we asked a concierge, we were told that the tickets could not be exchanged until three days before the boarding date, which was information I had not known at all, and it came as a surprise. In Asakusa, we first stopped by Azumabashi Bridge and I showed them Tokyo Skytree. The weather was fine and they took many photos. We finished by visiting Kaminarimon Gate.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter of Japan and an expert in Japanese history and culture, and also in nursing and health. I usually work as a Public Health Nurse (PHN) at a Public Health Center in Tokyo, and I hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Additionally, I have a Ph.D. in medical science.
Born in 1957 and raised in Tokyo, I have worked for 33 years mainly in the research and development area for some pharmaceutical companies. Then, I changed my career to nursing and entered a university to obtain a PHN and RN license. I took the Licensed Guide for preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and volunteered in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2021.
