What Is a Private Hakodate Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The tour was for the group. The guests listened very attentively to the explanations about each building. They were impressed by the detailed craftsmanship inside the magistrate's office. Since there was no particular request for lunch, we used the beer hall at the Red Brick Warehouses. Each of the guests ordered according to their own preferences. The forecast was for cloudy weather, but as the wind began to pick up, we went up Mount Hakodate earlier than planned. The view is a familiar one to us, but it seemed to be a fresh and moving experience for the guests. On the way down, as we headed toward the Museum of Northern Peoples, we passed through the group of churches in the Motomachi district. We visited a Catholic church. The guests were very impressed by the central altar of the church. When I offered three options for a sightseeing facility after the meal, they chose the Museum of Northern Peoples. At the guests' request, we ended the tour at the Red Brick Warehouses. The guests did not seem to expect that Hakodate would have such tourism resources in terms of history and architecture. They were impressed.

The instructions said to end the tour at the cruise ship port, but there was no use of a cruise ship.

Hi, I’m Humiko. Please call me Humi. I’ve been working as a nationally certified English speaking tour guide since 2014.
I love working as a tour guide. I like to meet new people and learn various things from them. My hobby is gardening. I take care of about 20 bonsai that my father left. Hakodate is my hometown. Hakodate is one of most popular tourist destinations in Japan. Many people visit Hakodate because you can enjoy fresh seafood, history, scenery and hot spring resorts in Hakodate. Hakodate is most famous for its lights. So beautiful!! You can come to Hakodate by Shinkansen bullet train, airplane, or car. I really look forward to meeting you and showing you around my hometown.
