What Is a Private Himeji Castle Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
Today's guests were visitors from Europe on their first trip to Japan. They had arrived three weeks earlier and had toured Tokyo, Kyoto, and the Kumano Kodo. After sightseeing in Himeji today, they planned to do a little sightseeing in Osaka tomorrow before heading home.
On today's tour, we met slightly earlier than scheduled at Himeji Station and visited Castle View, Himeji Castle, Kokoen Garden, and the rooftop of Egret Himeji, ending the tour at the Egret Himeji rooftop. The humidity was somewhat high today and it felt a little warm, but the guests took many photos at Himeji Castle and Kokoen Garden. They also seemed to love the view from the rooftop of Egret Himeji, our final stop, and were delighted with the tour as a whole.

Our delightful guide, Norio, was knowledgeable and a master at train negotiation! A highlight of the tour was the Herb Garden and Ropeway visit. The Sake Brewery and Museum was interesting with fabulous explanation from Norio combined with outstanding exhibits and tastings! He then left us to wander at our leisure in Chinatown.

We learnt lots about Himeji castle and it was very interesting. The gardens were beautiful and it was great to see all the Koi fish. Norio made sure to take us to the best places and even took us to a great local sake place we asked for 🙂
