What Is a Private Kyoto Day Tour Like with a Licensed Guide? A Guide's Report
Today I guided a group visiting from North America. Since walking was difficult for one of the guests, we arranged a private chartered taxi at the Hotel.
[Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) guide led this private taxi tour of Kyoto. We first went to Hanamikoji Street, but because it was still early in the morning, there were hardly any tourists, and the quiet streetscape was very beautiful, which the guests loved. At Tatsumi Bridge, there was a pre-wedding photo shoot taking place, which created a lovely atmosphere. After that, since there were still not many people around, the taxi driver kindly took us to Yasaka Pagoda, and I believe the guests were delighted to be able to take photos there. We then enjoyed the view from Shogunzuka.
Since the guests mentioned that their knee was starting to hurt, we ended the tour a little earlier than planned. I believe they enjoyed themselves.

We spent half a day with Kaeko Tanigawa taking us to Daitoku-ji and Kinkaku-ji temples and Nijo castle in Kyoto. She is very nice, customer-oriented and knowledgeable about Japanese culture and history.

Kaeko Tanigawa was fantastic at helping us create a tour that worked for our family with two young children. It was a very hot day, but the air conditioned van was perfect. We loved making ramen together, feeding monkeys, and seeing a few top sites of Kyoto.

Kyoto Private Tour
Kaeko was absolutely amazing from start to finish, and my husband and I had the best time with her during our honeymoon in Kyoto in April! She reached out well before our trip to get to know our interests and carefully planned an itinerary that was perfectly tailored to us—even helping us choose the perfect lunch spot.
