Kanazawa Local Food & Tea Culture Tour — Guide Yoshi

Tour Itinerary
- AM 9:30 Hotel From Oyama Shrine to Kanazawa Castle Park Tour inside Hishi Yagura, Gojukken Nagaya, and Hashizumemon Tsuzuki Yagura
- AM 11:00 Tour Kenrokuen (Since the customer had already worn a kimono and participated in a tea ceremony in Kyoto, at the customer's request, we did not participate in the tea ceremony at Shigure-tei and only took photos of the exterior. This day was the day of the grand tea ceremony, but we were able to enter right away.)
- AM 12:00 To Nagamachi AM 12:15 Stroll around the samurai residence district (Introduced the Nomura Family Residence, toured the Takada Family and Ashigaru Museum)
- PM 13:30 Move to Kanazawa Station (to refund the JR ticket that was canceled the other day and purchase tickets to Tokyo)
- (We planned to obtain a numbered ticket at the Midori-no-Madoguchi and go to Omicho Market during the wait, but at the customer's request
- we went to Higashi Chaya District instead. The customer said they would go to Omicho Market the next day)
- PM 14:00 Move to Higashi Chaya District Stroll around Kazuemachi and Higashi Chaya District Stopped by Sakuda gold leaf on the way
- PM 15:15 Move to Kanazawa Station (The number for the Midori-no-Madoguchi had already passed, but they helped us at the window)
- PM 15: 45 Tour disbands at Kanazawa Station
Title: What Is a Private Kanazawa Food and Culture Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
At the hotel meeting point, I learned that although four people had originally been scheduled to join, some of the guests were unable to come to Japan due to a recent hurricane, so the tour proceeded with the group that had arrived. Since they were aware that the tour fee would remain unchanged, I did not bring the matter up, though I sensed there may have been some dissatisfaction. There may also have been some frustration over the fact that a sudden JR cancellation meant the transfer from Nagoya to Takayama had to be made by taxi.
To avoid taking up tour time for the JR refund procedure, the tour began by heading to Kanazawa Station. Although the plan was the Kanazawa Food & Tea Culture tour, at the guests' request we omitted the stroll through Omicho Market and participation in the tea ceremony.
During the tour, the guiding service took some time as one of the guests recorded memories on a smartphone, but I believe the guest interested in samurai culture and history also enjoyed it. After introducing places for dinner and the illuminations at Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenrokuen Garden, I was invited to join for dinner as well, but I politely declined, and the tour concluded at Kanazawa Station.

Incredible tour, one of the highlights of my trip!
Booking a private tour with Hideharu (Yoshi) Yoshino was easily one of the absolute highlights of my trip.
Yoshi-san customized the day perfectly to my interests, accommodating a last-minute hotel change and timing our morning perfectly so we could see the spectacular Gion Matsuri parade without the heavy crowds.
We explored Ginkaku-ji, Nanzen-ji, and the traditional streets of Gion at a wonderful, relaxed pace.
The tour was fascinating and packed with interesting details that allowed me to truly understand Kyoto’s rich history.

A Well-Organized and Informative Tour of Kanazawa
We, a family of 5, had a very enjoyable 6-hour private tour of Kanazawa with Hideharu Yoshino from Japan Guide Agency.
Communication before the tour was excellent and made it very easy to plan the day. Yoshi’s English was excellent, which made communication throughout the tour very smooth. He provided very clear and interesting explanations, giving us a better understanding of the history and culture of the places we visited.
During the tour we explored Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen Garden, and the Geisha and Samurai districts.
It was a well-organized and informative tour. Highly recommended.

Our tea and culture day in Kanazawa with our guide Hideharu Yoshino was amazing! Yoshi is very fluent in English and a great companion to walk around with as he knows so much about the history and culture of Kanazawa and Japan. He also knew the best place to grab lunch and helped us pick what was good local fish, curry or tea to try. Plus he made sure we felt comfortable and never out of place wherever we went. I would recommend him for anyone who likes to know more about what they are seeing or what they can do in the area. Yoshi is great!
