Tour Itinerary
- Hotel AM10:00 Start
- Since the guest wanted to purchase tickets to Kyoto for tomorrow, we moved to Kanazawa Station
- AM 10:30 From Kanazawa Station to Higashi Chaya District Strolling around.
- AM 11:30 Moved from Higashi Chaya District to Kanazawa Castle Park
- AM 11:45 Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park Sightseeing
- PM 13:30 Heading to Nagamachi via Oyama Shrine
- Visited the Ashigaru Museum and the Takada Family Residence, while introducing the Nomura Family Residence
- Showed the location of the hotel on a map and ended the tour. PM 14:30
Title: What Can You See on a Half-Day Private Tour of Kanazawa? A Licensed Guide's Report
The first request was to go to Kanazawa Station to buy shinkansen tickets for the following day. The JR ticket office (Midori no Madoguchi) is always quite crowded, and I imagine that visitors from abroad who are not used to it struggle at stations everywhere. Since the guests were looking for traditional Kanazawa souvenirs, we stopped by a gold leaf shop in the Higashi Chaya district. They watched the gold leaf manufacturing process and purchased souvenirs. They also seemed interested in other crafts, so it took quite a while, but since they planned to stop by again the next day, we moved on. I guided them through Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park, and we parted ways in the Nagamachi district, though as expected we ran over time. For a half-day tour in Kanazawa, I make it a practice to introduce the highlights so that the guests can visit places on their own in the afternoon.

Incredible tour, one of the highlights of my trip!
Booking a private tour with Hideharu (Yoshi) Yoshino was easily one of the absolute highlights of my trip.
Yoshi-san customized the day perfectly to my interests, accommodating a last-minute hotel change and timing our morning perfectly so we could see the spectacular Gion Matsuri parade without the heavy crowds.
We explored Ginkaku-ji, Nanzen-ji, and the traditional streets of Gion at a wonderful, relaxed pace.
The tour was fascinating and packed with interesting details that allowed me to truly understand Kyoto’s rich history.
Highly recommended!

A Well-Organized and Informative Tour of Kanazawa
We, a family of 5, had a very enjoyable 6-hour private tour of Kanazawa with Hideharu Yoshino from Japan Guide Agency.
Communication before the tour was excellent and made it very easy to plan the day. Yoshi’s English was excellent, which made communication throughout the tour very smooth. He provided very clear and interesting explanations, giving us a better understanding of the history and culture of the places we visited.
During the tour we explored Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen Garden, and the Geisha and Samurai districts.
It was a well-organized and informative tour. Highly recommended.

Our tea and culture day in Kanazawa with our guide Hideharu Yoshino was amazing! Yoshi is very fluent in English and a great companion to walk around with as he knows so much about the history and culture of Kanazawa and Japan. He also knew the best place to grab lunch and helped us pick what was good local fish, curry or tea to try. Plus he made sure we felt comfortable and never out of place wherever we went. I would recommend him for anyone who likes to know more about what they are seeing or what they can do in the area. Yoshi is great!
