What Is a Private One-Day Tokyo Tour Like on a Rainy Day? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visiting Japan from North America, some visiting for the first time and others returning after several years. There was some concern about rain, but the morning was cloudy with only light showers, and at Meiji Shrine we were able to see a wedding ceremony taking place. The guests were interested in history and listened attentively to the explanations at the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. In Asakusa it began to rain and the area was crowded, but the guests enjoyed the atmosphere of Nakamise Street and Shin-Nakamise Street. They were also very interested in discussions about religion and listened closely. As we had made a reservation at a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, we were able to enter right away, and the guests seemed amazed by the system in which the sushi is delivered by conveyor belt. They enjoyed the sushi and desserts. Afterward, we went to Ginza, and after a brief introduction, the guests decided to explore Ginza Street on their own, so the tour came to an end. Umbrellas were necessary for the latter half of the day, but I believe the guests enjoyed themselves.
