Can You Do a Private Day Tour of Nara from Kyoto? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visitors making their first trip to Japan, arriving from Asia. Before the tour I had wondered about mobility, but they walked well and there were no problems. Since one of the guests was not very comfortable with English, the other often interpreted into another language. The trains heading to Nara have seen an increasing number of international visitors, and Nara has become a destination people want to visit alongside Kyoto. The guests seemed fond of the deer and animals, but they did not buy crackers to feed them. As today was a Monday, the "Naramachi Koshi-no-Ie" (Lattice House) was closed, and it appears it will remain closed for a while due to renovation work starting the next day. So today I guided them to the "Nigiwai-no-Ie." Afterward, we took a break at a nearby café, but things took a while because some of the items we ordered were sold out, and we ended up spending quite a bit of time there.
