What Does a Full-Day Private Walking Tour of Tokyo Look Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visiting Japan for the first time from Europe. At the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, they took many photographs of the various Edo-period buildings and stone walls. They showed a strong interest in history and listened attentively to my explanations. They also seemed to enjoy the beauty of the Ninomaru Garden. In Asakusa, they enjoyed the view from the information center, especially the Tokyo Skytree and the Asahi Beer headquarters building. Afterward, we visited Senso-ji Temple, where they purchased a goshuin stamp book and had it stamped. For lunch, we enjoyed monjayaki and okonomiyaki in Nishi-Asakusa, and they said the monjayaki was delicious. In Kappabashi, we visited shops selling food samples and Kiriko glass, and then we strolled through Ueno Park, briefly explored Ginza Street, and parted ways at the rooftop garden of Ginza SIX. There was only a slight sprinkle of rain and it was a little humid, but the weather was pleasant. We walked a great deal, and I believe the guests enjoyed the day.
