I’m Hiroko Hayashi, a Hiroshima prefectural licensed guide. I work at the tourist information center in Miyajimaguchi ferry terminal and also work as a guide.
A lot of people only know Hiroshima for the tragedy, but this city is so much more than that. I hope that you’ll learn about and fall in love with Hiroshima’s culture and delicious food. I’d like to help international tourists enjoy their stay traveling around Japan more fun.
I was born in Hiroshima and lived in Tokyo when I was young. Then I came back to Hiroshima because of my husband’s job. I noticed Hiroshima a nice place to live in. I like traveling at home and abroad. I’ve been to 22 different countries. I love okonomiyaki (Japanese-style pizza, or savory Japanese pancake) and oysters, Hiroshima’s local specialties! I look forward to sharing them with my guests.

We had a memorable day touring and learning about the history of Hiroshima. Our guide, Hiroko, communicated clearly before and during the tour. She also adjusted our itinerary to keep us out of the sun on a very hot day. We appreciated that!
