What Is a Private Tour of Tokyo's Koishikawa Korakuen and Nezu Shrine Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests visiting Tokyo came from Europe. Because of a long flight of more than 20 hours, some of the guests were tired at the start, so the tour began with only part of the group. At Koishikawa Korakuen, the guests were fascinated by the garden dotted with lessons — such as "worry first, enjoy later" (senyu koraku), Kuhachiya (a warning against drinking too much), the rice paddy, and the Full Moon Bridge. At Nezu Shrine, when I explained Shinto, one of the guests remarked, "I really like that way of thinking." After passing through many torii gates, the guests were delighted, saying they had gained "the blessing of the gods!"

We returned to the Hotel and the rest of the group joined, then we had dinner at a lovely restaurant at the foot of Tokyo Tower. It was very well received, with comments of "delicious." The guests also enjoyed the night view from Tokyo Tower, and we walked back to the Hotel.
