What Can You See on an 8-Hour Private Walking Tour of Yanaka and Ameyoko in Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were visitors from Europe on their second trip to Japan, so I took them to places they had not seen before. At Nezu Shrine they bought a good-luck bell, and at a traditional shop they purchased owl-themed items they collect. Since the temperature was high from the morning and we walked quite a bit in Yanaka, we had an early lunch at a local restaurant in Komagome. They enjoyed a pork cutlet set meal and were very satisfied. At Rikugien Garden they enjoyed the matcha and sweets they had been looking forward to. Along the way we made sure to stop for ice cream and to stay well hydrated. At Ameyoko they bought lots of Japanese sweets at a confectionery shop. This was an 8-hour tour, and since we had a little time left at the end, I took them to the basement floor of a nearby department store, where they bought gyoza, shumai, and a bag containing wine and a plate from a specialty grocery store. One of the guests had a fine camera and took many photographs. The guests were calm and relaxed, and we had a very pleasant time together.
