From there the group visited Himeji Castle (Nishinomaru, Castle Keep) at 12:20, Koko-en Garden at 14:30, Loop bus to the station at 15:10, Sanyo Electric Railway to Tegara Station at 15:30, Nadagiku Sake Brewery tour at 15:40 and Himeji Station Disband at 16:40.
Travel between the sites was by public transport: In front of Koko-en Garden to Himeji Station by bus (190JPY); Himeji Station to Tegara Station by train (340JPY). Across 2 sections the fare came to 530JPY per person.

The guests especially wished to visit a local sake brewery, so despite the heat, we adjusted our timing as we toured the castle keep, the West Bailey Long Corridor, and Koko-en Garden. The guests were particularly interested in the clever design of the castle's defensive layout. To save time and because fatigue had reached quite a peak, I suggested taking the bus to the station. At the sake brewery, the guests were delighted by the word "kanpai" used during the tasting. They purchased quite a lot of sake and seemed very satisfied, so I too was able to end the tour feeling very happy.

Our guide Chiyuki was the best part of the trip. Super earnest, so generous with her knowledge of the history and culture. The tour had a lot to cover, from the sake making area to the Kobe Herb Garden Ropeway on the opposite side of the city, all in one afternoon. Miles to cover but never once did we feel rushed. We had lovely conversations along the way and tons of pictures to take home. Last but not least, when we requested for her recommendations of Kobe beef places, she pointed us to a top notch Kobe Beef Teppanyaki option – while prudently ensuring it was a value for money experience. You are the best Chiyuki – grateful for your hospitality and gracious hosting.
