What Is a Private Guided Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
A [Japan Guide Agency (JGA Inc.)](https://www.j-g-a.org/) licensed guide led a private tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima for guests visiting from North America. The guests were captivated by the beautiful scenery of Miyajima and took photos everywhere they went. They showed interest in the sake barrels displayed within the shrine, so I explained how sake is made and described how its brewing method differs from that of wine. I also shared that Hiroshima sake was served when President Obama visited Japan.
Before entering the main building of the memorial museum, I spoke about the experience of Sunao Tsuboi and about the fact that I am a second-generation atomic bomb survivor, and the guests listened with tears in their eyes. Due to time constraints, we did not have time to visit Shukkeien Garden or Hiroshima Castle, but since the guests planned to visit them the following day, I provided an explanation about those sites, which they greatly appreciated.
