Tour Itinerary in Detail

This private tour of Tokyo began at 10:00, when the guide met the guests at Ibis Styles Tokyo Ginza, and finished at 14:00. The day ran to 4 hours from start to finish.

From there the group visited Meiji Shrine at 10:30, Harajuku (Look at some shops on Takeshita Street) at 11:10, Imperial Palace East Gardens at 12:30 and Akihabara at 13:40.

Travel between the sites was by public transport: Ginza to Meiji-jingumae by train (178JPY); Meiji-jingumae to Otemachi by train (209JPY); Otemachi to Akihabara by train (178JPY). Across 3 sections the fare came to 565JPY per person.

It was an extremely hot day, and I lent out three parasols to help manage, but it was quite challenging. At Meiji Shrine, we discussed the differences between the religion of the guests' region and Shinto. They found the Japanese view of nature particularly interesting. As they were a group, at Harajuku's Takeshita Street they went into several shops and enjoyed shopping. The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace were very hot, but the guests expressed astonishment at the atmosphere of Edo Castle. They were especially interested in the changes in the style of the stone walls. They wanted to buy electronic components, so we stopped by several shops in Akihabara, and finally I accompanied them along with a tout to a maid cafe of their choice before we parted ways.
