Title: What Is a One-Day Private Kyoto Tour Like on a Hot Summer Day? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. One of them had been to Kyoto before, while the other was visiting for the first time. Because there were places that had left a strong impression during the earlier visit and were something the group wanted to share, we followed a classic Kyoto itinerary for the day. I suggested some other locations, but since they had only one day available, we proceeded according to their wishes.
It was the hottest day of the year so far in Kyoto, so I made sure to include hydration and occasional breaks and stayed attentive to the risk of heatstroke and fatigue. However, the guests were both extremely energetic and showed no signs of being worn out, so we completed the tour as planned. There were many questions about Japanese history, culture, and social issues, and the group seemed to sense the deep charm of the city of Kyoto, saying they would love to visit again.

I have been doing this work since 2019 covering not only Kyoto but also its surrounding areas like Nara , Osaka and Shiga.
I am very much interested in Japanese history, culture and traditional arts.
Kyoto and the Kansai region are rich with many heritage sites of historical and cultural features.

Great walking tour in Kyoto!
Shoji was a great guide around Kyoto. Even in the rain we were able to visit the shrines/temples we wanted to see. We wished we had started earlier as we would have linke to have seen other things off the beaten path. We ended in Gion and were able to walk around the area. Shoji brought a wealth of knowledge about the area and Japanese culture.

In just six hours, he managed to give us an incredibly rich and insightful experience. We had such a wonderful tour of Nara with our tour guide Shoji. He was very knowledgeable and taught us so much about Japanese history. He was extremely flexible and helped us create the best tour for us. We wouldn’t have had near the positive experience or seen as many locations if we had tried to do the tour on our own. I recommend this tour and guide to anyone wanting to experience Nara.
