- 12:15-12:55 Stroll through Nishiki Market
- 13:05-14:30 Lunch @ Kichikichi Kyoto Kawaramachi Sanjo
- 14:45-15:10 Shopping @ Kyoto Handicraft Center
- 15:15-15:30 In front of Heian Shrine and Chion-in Temple (Photo opportunity and restroom break)
- 15:40-15:55 Stroll through Gion Area
- 17:25 Disband @ Port Terminal
What Is a Full-Day Private Kyoto Tour Like for Guests from North America? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting from North America. Since one member had difficulty walking, another carried a folding stool, and the group needed to rest on that stool roughly every ten minutes of walking. I think areas like Arashiyama and Nishiki Market were quite challenging, but the guests managed to walk through them with great effort.
For lunch we had teppanyaki at a restaurant. The conversation with a young chef who was studying English was lively, and the guests enjoyed it very much. After the meal, on the recommendation of the driver, we visited the Heian Shrine, Chion-in Temple, and the Gion area, took photos, and then headed back.

Andy(Atsushi) was great and communicated with us beforehand about our itinerary. He was flexible with changes we requested. Andy was very informative during the tour. He also was willing to take our family’s pictures. We were able to stop and check out shops as we pleased along the way. He also accommodated lunch requests(as our daughter has food allergies).
One thing I wish we realized was that there is quite a bit of walking. We were fine but for people who are perhaps older or with young children you may want to consider taking a cab between different sites.

Andy Murao was an amazing and wonderful tour guide. He reached out to us with some ideas for our private tour. He worked with us as we made the tour perfectly suited to our needs. He met us on time. He navigated the crowds and the sites perfectly. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. He even put together a nice photo collection of photos he emailed us after. Highly recommend.
