- 7:30 Meet in front of the Hotel
- 7:45 Move by JR from Hiroshima Station to Miyajimaguchi Station
- 8:18 Arrive at Miyajimaguchi Station
- 8:40 Take the ferry to Miyajima
- 8:50 Arrive at Miyajima
- Shrine, Senjokaku, Five-storied Pagoda
- 10:25 Finish Miyajima sightseeing and head to Miyajimaguchi
- 10:35 Arrive at Miyajimaguchi
- 10:47 Head to Nishi-Hiroshima
- 11:13 Arrive at Nishi-Hiroshima
- 11:24 Take the bus from Nishi-Hiroshima to Atomic Bomb Dome
- 12:00 Arrive at Atomic Bomb Dome
- 12:05 Lunch at Okonomiyaki Micchan
- 12:40 Finish lunch, tour the monuments, museum
- 14:00 Disband at the museum
Title: What Is a Private Guided Tour of Miyajima and Hiroshima Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
I guided the guests visiting from North America. The reason the hotel meeting time was set early at 7:30 was that they had reserved a 4:30 train to Osaka.
Around 9:00 in the morning, Miyajima was quiet with very few tourists. Since the shops were still closed, it was a shame that we could not eat freshly made momiji manju, which the guests seemed to have been looking forward to. When I showed them a scenic photo spot, they were delighted to take pictures.
The guests looked at the exhibits at the museum with great interest, and they listened with keen attention and were deeply moved by my own experience as a second-generation atomic bomb survivor.
