What Is a Rainy-Day Private Tokyo Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests arrived from North America and planned to stay in Tokyo before continuing by cruise ship to Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Kagoshima. This tour took place under storm-like heavy rain that continued from the morning. At the start of the tour, I told the guests, "We may not be blessed with good weather, but thanks to the rain it is about 16 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than yesterday, which makes for a comfortable temperature (I always struggle with converting between the metric system and the imperial system for guests from North America). I'm sure there will be other good things too." Thanks to the heavy rain, we were able to enter a micro-pig cafe on Takeshita Street with no wait, even though it usually requires a reservation, and the guests enjoyed interacting with many micro pigs. For lunch, we were able to get into a sushi restaurant that is also popular in Tsukiji with no wait, and the guests savored their sushi slowly and calmly. It was truly a day of "After a storm comes a calm."
