What Is a Private Kyoto Group Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, and Kinkaku-ji

It was a group tour, but the guests stayed together well and everything went smoothly. The guests had requested a reservation at a sushi restaurant for lunch, so I had booked one, but I was informed on the spot that some of the guests did not care for sushi. Fortunately, there was a tempura menu available, so it worked out fine. Everyone was delighted by the beautiful presentation and took many photos. Since some of the guests preferred a slower pace, I did not want to rush them, so we proceeded gently at their pace. In the end, I was able to guide them to Fushimi Inari Taisha, the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, and Kinkaku-ji as planned, and the guests were very pleased.

Hi! My name is YUKA. I’ve got the government license in 2018 and joined a half year traning to do the guide. But a half year later I started my carreer, Covid came. I should have given up guiding. During the Covid, I’ve read many books and made my own materials to explain Japanese culture, history, etc. I love guiding because the guests expand my horizon all the time and let me know their own country and culture, etc. It is really important for us all to know each other and respect each other to make this world peace. Thank you for coming to Japan! Let’s enjoy Japan together!
