Title: What Is a Private Hiroshima Peace Memorial Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report
The guests were a group visiting Hiroshima, and one of them had been to Hiroshima several times before, including a visit to the memorial museum five years ago. They were both delighted to learn for the first time that Hiroshima had served as the capital for eight months and that Ujina Port had been an important logistics base. I made sure to find places to sit while giving explanations and to walk slowly throughout the tour. Questions also came up such as, "Do Japanese people prefer China or America?" and "How long did it take for radiation levels to return to normal?" At the museum, the guests told me, "We'll take our time looking around until about 6 o'clock, so feel free to head back first," so I left ahead of them. I was glad that the guests listened so attentively to my explanations.

Hiroshima Tour with Yoshi
Yoshi was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond—meeting us at the station and making everything feel effortless and perfectly organized.
She is incredibly knowledgeable, especially about Hiroshima’s history. What made the experience even more special is that her perspective comes from someone who was born and raised there. Hearing the stories, details, and context directly from her added a level of depth and authenticity that you simply cannot get otherwise.
Beyond her knowledge, Yoshi is just a beautiful human being—kind, warm, and genuinely caring. Spending the day with her felt like a hug to the heart. She made us feel comfortable, cared for, and fully present in such a meaningful place.
She guided us through every site with perfect timing and intention, making sure we experienced everything without ever feeling rushed.
If you are visiting Hiroshima, I cannot recommend Yoshi enough. Seeing the city through her eyes is something truly unforgettable.
