What Is a Private Koyasan (Mount Koya) Walking Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests had booked well in advance and had been looking forward to the Koyasan (Mount Koya) tour. It was a short course starting in front of Okunoin, but they enjoyed the atmosphere of Okunoin and took many photographs. Around midday the restaurants were crowded, but since a reservation had been made, we were able to have our meal smoothly, and the following bus connections went well too, so we were able to visit the Garan complex and Kongobuji Temple in a short amount of time. One of the guests was interested in esoteric Buddhism and asked questions about the differences between religion and Shinto. Since they seemed a little anxious about the connections on the way back, I accompanied them until they transferred to the Namba-bound train at Hashimoto Station.

Hi! I’m an official English guide in Wakayama prefecture. I’m also a national guide as well. I’d like to expand my guide area to help tourists.
The town of Osaka offers a different atmosphere than Tokyo. I like both exciting Osaka and nature-filled Wakayama Prefecture.
If you stay in Osaka for 3 days, you can go to Koyasan for one day, or even for a day trip, so I recommend sightseeing at Koyasan.
If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, the nature of Koyasan will relax you.
I will introduce you to the unique culture, history and must-see sights.
