- 9:20 Mercure Tokyo Ginza
- From Ginza Station on the Hibiya Line via the Chiyoda Line
- 10:00 From Otemon Gate to the Old Edo Castle and the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace
- From Otemachi on the Tozai Line via the Ginza Line
- 11:45 Asakusa sightseeing
- 13:00 Kamaage udon and tendon lunch at Towada
- 14:00 Dismissal at the hotel
What Can You See on a Private Day Tour of Tokyo? A Licensed Guide's Report on the Imperial Palace and Asakusa
The guests were visitors from Oceania. They mentioned that they would board a cruise from Yokohama Port starting the following week, and that today and tomorrow were free days for them. I guided them around the Imperial Palace and Asakusa. It was a hot day, but I was glad they were able to walk energetically. Asakusa was much less crowded compared to peak times, and we were able to get into a restaurant without a reservation. For lunch we had kamaage udon and tendon, though the kamaage udon seemed quite difficult for them to eat. I thought it would be helpful to know such details in advance.

My wife and I enjoyed this tour immensely. Maki was absolutely great. If you want to get oriented in Tokyo take this tour first. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and considerate to our needs for seeing the best of Tokyo in one day. I would recommend this tour on the first day to experience negotiating the Tokyo Metro and famous sights.
