Hello! My name is Umi. I was born and raised in Kyoto, and I still live here today.

I have always loved traveling. When I visit another country, I enjoy learning about its history, culture, and way of life from local people. Talking with locals helps me understand a place much better than simply visiting famous sights. That’s why I became a tour guide.

Through my tours, I hope to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of Japan. In addition to its beauty and traditions, I am also happy to talk about modern life in Japan. My goal is for my guests to leave Japan with wonderful memories and a deeper appreciation of the country.

I’m looking forward to meeting you!

What Is a Private Osaka Day Tour Like? A Licensed Guide's Report on Osaka Castle, Shitennoji, and Dotonbori

I guided a guest visiting Japan from Europe. It was their first time in Osaka, and since they wished to see castles and temples, we visited Osaka Castle, Shitennoji Temple, Dotonbori, and Hozenji Temple. At Osaka Castle, in the Kishu Garden, I explained that the ponds of Japanese gardens are designed so that buildings are reflected on the water's surface, and I suggested taking photos capturing both the building and its reflection together. The guest then waited for other people to move out of the frame before taking their photos. At Shitennoji Temple, the Manto-e cleanup happened to be underway, and the guest showed interest in the lanterns adorned with streamers in the five traditional colors.

Since the guest planned to return to Tokyo after the tour, I guided them through each location at a relatively brisk pace and used taxis for transportation. As a result, by the time we finished touring the final destination, Hozenji Yokocho, about an hour and a half still remained. When I asked whether there were any other places they would like to visit, they said they wanted to return to the hotel and prepare to travel to Tokyo, so in line with their wishes, we ended the tour earlier than scheduled.
