What's a Private Himeji Castle and Mount Shosha Tour Like During Cherry Blossom Season? A Licensed Guide's Report

The guests were a group of three adults visiting from North America. Since it was cherry blossom season, we visited Himeji Castle and Kokoen Garden in the morning to avoid the crowds as much as possible, and went to Mount Shosha in the afternoon. Around midday there were many tourists and it was difficult to find a place for lunch, but we managed to have lunch at a restaurant in front of the castle.

After that, we took a taxi to the base of Mount Shosha and explored Engyoji Temple using the ropeway and a microbus. The guests had originally requested a 4-hour tour, but at their request to visit Mount Shosha in addition to Himeji Castle, two hours were added. They had especially mentioned wanting to visit the filming location of "The Last Samurai," so they were very pleased when we went to Mount Shosha.

Contrary to the weather forecast, it was fine weather all day, and the guests seemed satisfied at the end of the tour.
